A longtime partner agency of the Food Bank, St. Francis Center is a multi-service community organization located on Hope Street in Downtown Los Angeles.
We are proud to work with agencies like East LA Community Corporation who focus not only on providing enough food for people in need, but on improving access to nutritious meals and recipes in their communities.
Summer is no vacation for families with children who rely on school meals. During the summer months, we provide nutritious lunches for almost 3,000 children at 70 sites.

I moved from Compton to South LA about 13 years ago and I have been coming to the Salvation Army for 7 years now. About a year ago, I went through a rough time when I lost my daughter. She passed away and it was a very difficult time for me.
The BackPack Program is designed to ensure that kids who rely on school meals don’t go hungry over the weekend. We currently serve more than 1,000 children at 10 underserved schools on a weekly basis during the school year.
Like many older Americans, Michael Holt is on a fixed income. “Once I pay my rent, I only have about $150 that’s got to last me the rest of the month,” he says.
