Team #WeFeedLA Virtual Fundraisers this Holiday Season

Every holiday season, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is fortunate enough to receive more than 150,000 pounds of donated food items to help provide meals to those who need it most in LA County. However, like so many, we had to quickly switch gears and reinvent our operations due to the pandemic. We have temporarily paused all traditional food drives as our resources are being used to support our food distributions to provide meals to our neighbors who need it most in this dire time.

Theo and Cole’s Virtual Fundraiser

This holiday season, we encourage our supporters to start a Team #WeFeedLA fundraiser, which allows you to get desperately needed food to those in need while social distancing! For Theo and Cole wanted to provide meals to other children and families in need during this challenging time, so starting a #WeFeedLA fundraiser was an easy decision. Together, they were able to rally their friends and family to raise more than $5,000, which helped the Food Bank provide more than 20,000 meals to families in LA County.

“I wanted to support the BackPack Program during this pandemic because I want to help kids who don’t have all the food they need to stay well during these hard times. I am fortunate to know that tomorrow I won’t have any trouble getting food, so I wanted to help kids who are not as lucky as I am. We all live in this community, so we should all help each other.”

Theo

“The pandemic is hurting some families more than others. Some kids are struggling with distance learning. The schools are closed and do not have easy access to the meals they used to have. So my friend Theo and I decided to help, with the support of the LA Regional Food Bank.”

Cole

Theo and Cole have made a huge difference, and we thank them for being heroes for our hungry neighbors during this trying time. Together, #WeFeedLA.
