Stater Bros.’ Harvesting Hope Campaign to Benefit the LA Regional Food Bank

Longtime supporter of the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Stater Bros. Charities kicked off their annual Harvesting Hope Campaign to help address food insecurity in the communities where the stores operate. Over the years, Stater Bros. has generated enough funding for roughly 400,000 meals to be distributed throughout Los Angeles County.

This campaign starts on Tuesday, November 1, and runs through the end of the year. Shoppers will be able to donate to the Harvesting Hope Campaign by donating coins or purchasing donation cards at checkout. The Food Bank encourages Stater Bros. shoppers to participate in this exciting program, which will benefit the entire Los Angeles County community.

In fact, shoppers outside of LA County will be benefiting their local Southern California food banks as well, allowing for the continuation of essential food assistance going out into the community. In 2021 alone, Harvesting Hope provided enough funding to provide the equivalent of nearly 2 million meals. As inflation pushes the prices of everyday items higher, food assistance provided by Southern California food banks is as important as ever.

The past few years have been difficult for everyone but have been particularly challenging for disadvantaged communities, including millions of people in Los Angeles County. At the peak of the pandemic, approximately one in ten people in LA County were receiving assistance from the LA Regional Food Bank or Food Bank partner agencies, and as inflation continues to put pressure on family budgets, the levels of food insecurity are on the rise again according to a recent USC study.

“The holidays should be a time for celebration, but for many, it only serves as a reminder that many people in our community continue to suffer from hunger and food insecurity,” said Nancy Negrette, Chairman and President of Stater Bros. Charities. “In the past, our customers and teammates have consistently come through in times of need, and I have no doubt they will deliver again this year.”
