The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers continues to clear debris from properties in Altadena and Pacific Palisades, marking a significant step in the recovery from the January wildfires in Los Angeles County, reports the LA Times. This cleanup initiated a lengthy rebuilding process for residents who lost homes and businesses in the Eaton and Palisades fires, which destroyed over 9,400 structures in Altadena and more than 6,800 in Pacific Palisades. These fires have destroyed homes and disrupted the lives of families and individuals in these areas and their surrounding communities.
During times of crisis, such as wildfires, the demand for food assistance from the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and its network of hundreds of partner agencies rises dramatically. As many families and individuals are working to rebuild, having regular access to nutritious food shouldn’t be another burden.
Fortunately, Los Angeles County is a generous one. The people of Los Angeles County come together to help our neighbors by donating funds and time to the Food Bank and our partners.
A number of high-profile leaders and celebrities have stepped up to help amplify the Food Bank’s response efforts, mobilizing resources and spreading awareness.

A group of generous musicians, including Tenacious D, came together for a unique project—a compilation of previously unreleased recordings featuring new songs, covers, remixes, live versions, and demos. This exclusive album was available for only 24 hours, and proceeds from this compilation directly benefit the LA Regional Food Bank and the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Fund, providing critical resources to those affected by the fires.
