Congratulations to the entire Los Angeles Rams organization on their Super Bowl win. Throughout the game, they demonstrated their leadership and ability on the field. Through their ongoing service to the community, they show their incredible leadership off the field, too.
The Los Angeles Rams have been a key partner to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank since the team returned to LA. Here are just a few ways the LA Rams have made a difference in the fight against hunger.
The Taste of the Rams is an annual event hosted by the LA Regional Food Bank and presented by many sponsors such as Don Lee Farms. Each year, some of the top Chefs in LA partner with the Food Bank to put together hundreds of meals for Rams fans and Food Bank supporters. In-person events are organized as tasting events, where participants can visit booth after booth of delicious samples and mingle with their favorite LA Rams players. The LA Rams Cheer team and Rampage are also typically in attendance.
In 2020 and 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was moved into the virtual space, which gave people an opportunity to see their favorite Rams team members in a more intimate setting. Typically, the players would broadcast from their homes and answer interview questions from host Andrew Siciliano. In 2021, Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp joined from his kitchen, where Chef Steve Samson walked him through one of the event’s signature dishes.

At the beginning of the pandemic, the LA Rams Partnered with ABC7 and other organizations to provide assistance during a time of serious need in our community. This virtual fundraising event, called the “Te’LA’thon” raised $2.2 million dollars in March of 2020, when the Food Bank was seeing a massive surge in the number of people who were in need of food assistance, including people who had never sought this type of assistance before, and never imagined they would.
In addition to financial contributions, the LA Rams hosted multiple drive-through distributions at SoFi Stadium. In fact, the LA Regional Food Bank teamed up with the LA Rams for the very first large-scale event at SoFi. As the stadium was still under construction, the parking lot hosted thousands of families, and members of the Rams organization volunteered to put the emergency food kits into trunks.
The many distributions hosted at SoFi stadium provided thousands of people with the food they needed for themselves and their families.

In addition to the contributions made by the LA Rams as a team and organization, there are many MVPs who have stepped up to help LA County. For example, 2021 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year, Andrew Whitworth, donated $250,000 at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. He also appeared on ABC7 to promote the Te’LA’thon fundraiser, which would raise $2.2 million for those in need.
Financial gifts like these also inspire Rams fans and members of the general community to get involved in hunger relief. Raising awareness for the essential work of the Food Bank is also important.
Cooper Kupp has served multiple times as the honorary chair of the aforementioned Taste of the Rams events, as have many other LA Rams team members. Troy Reeder, Dont’e Deayon, Tyler Higbee, Brian Allen, Ben Skowronek, Nick Scott and many others have participated in our fundraising or food distribution events.
On behalf of the Food Bank, congratulations to the Rams organization on their Super Bowl win, and we wish them continued success on and off the field.
