Warner Bros. Makes an Impact By Demonstrating Corporate Social Responsibility

Warner Bros. Makes an Impact By Demonstrating Corporate Social Responsibility

For the 11th year, employees from Warner Bros. Burbank nominated the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank as an Impact partner. Warner Bros.’ Impact giving program is an employee-driven initiative that supports employee outreach, volunteerism and giving. Employees are encouraged to donate to Impact partners through their employee-giving portal so Warner Bros. can match contributions. Warner Bros. donated roughly $51,000 in 2018 and has already reached approximately $48,000 as of November 13, 2019. More than 175 Warner Bros. employees have volunteered at the Food Bank, representing more than 500 hours of donated time.

Most recently, Warner Bros. participated in two volunteer days at the Food Bank, packing 2,464 nutritious food kits to be distributed to older, low-income adults facing food insecurity.

These kits, like the ones prepared by Warner Bros., help older adults all year round. Many individuals who are age “60 and better” are on a fixed income. This food assistance allows them to spend less on food, continue to purchase much-needed medicine and cope with the overall high cost of living in Los Angeles County.

Thank you to Warner Bros. for their ongoing support and helping us fulfill our mission to mobilize resources to fight hunger in Los Angeles County.

Volunteering at the Food Bank

The summer months are a particularly important time to volunteer at the Food Bank. While people tend to think about food insecurity over the winter holidays, the summer is an equally important time for us. During the summer, many children don’t have access to school lunches. Families need to allocate extra resources in the summer months for these extra meals, and in some cases, for childcare.

Please consider volunteering this summer. Our updated volunteer website makes it easy to volunteer as an individual, group or corporation. Many people in our community decide to make a difference for their birthday by volunteering at the Food Bank rather than throwing a party. Some even donate their gift money to those in need, like this eight year old.
