September is Hunger Action Month. During this time, people all across America stand together to fight hunger.
In Los Angeles County alone, millions of people struggle with hunger,
but you can join us to make a difference.
Lend a hand at the Food Bank! We rely on tens of thousands of volunteers on an annual basis. Become a Hunger Hero by volunteering.
Every $1 donated to the Food Bank provides up to 4 nutritious meals for someone struggling with hunger. Just imagine, if you gave up one $5 latte every week and donated to the Food Bank instead, you’d help us distribute more than 1,000 meals in one year! Visit LAFoodBank.org/donate to learn how to make a monthly, tax-deductible donation.
Virtual Food Drives are a convenient way to help the Food Bank provide nutritious food for our neighbors in need.
Having a birthday this month? Start a fundraiser. It is a fast and easy way to let your loved ones know that you care about feeding hungry people in our community.
During September, aka Hunger Action Month, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank plans to raise more awareness around food insecurity and energize our community to get involved in hunger relief. The Food Bank calls on our supporters to share selfies and bird’s eye views around their respective dinner tables with the hashtag #AroundTheTable.
If you are interested in hosting an event, starting a fundraiser or if you can come up with a new, creative way to support our mission we’d love to hear your idea!

The fact is, hunger hurts all kinds of people—even people you’d least expect. Sharing your story can help others feel like they are less alone. Do you have a story about food insecurity? Share it with us so we can inspire others.
